What it is
Philly Mah-Jawn Mahjong Club is a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Japanese Riichi club with its own Old City clubhouse and a weekly King of Prussia table. It is not American Mah Jongg as the default game. Founded in 2019, the club opened The Mah-Jawn Clubhouse in Old City in March 2025. Pickup games, teaching tables, and automatic-table rentals are on the first-party site.
Who it’s for
Anyone in the Philadelphia / King of Prussia metro who wants Riichi — including people new to the Japanese rules. The clubhouse can be set for Chinese or American mahjong if a group of four asks ahead; the standing game is Japanese Riichi.
Why it’s listed
This is a first-party club with a host-venue page and printed hours, not a scraped directory card. As of 2026-08-23 it is the clearest Riichi table in the Philadelphia metro.
- Old City clubhouse hours on the club site: Friday 7:00–11:00 pm, Saturday 12:00 pm–8:00 pm, Sunday 2:00–8:00 pm.
- King of Prussia cadence on the same site: Wednesday 6:30–10:00 pm at the King of Prussia Bridge Club.
- Old City venue fee: $10 for the day. Saturday 12:00–2:00 pm is an introductory window (play plus a free lesson, no extra cost beyond the venue fee).
- Membership is required for Old City meetups outside that Saturday intro window. Not required at King of Prussia. KOP venue fee: $5. KOP games are hand-shuffle (no autotables).
- Membership tiers on the site: Tanyao $20/calendar year (clubhouse access and table reservations); Mangan $60/calendar year (Tanyao benefits, stamp card — every tenth visit free — plus monthly member events). A new membership waives that day’s venue fee.
Prices and hours above are what the official site showed on the check date. They can change.
