What it is

The Mahj Report is a scoring app for casual American mahjong played at home, “the kind played at kitchen tables, not tournaments.” The host sets house rules (for example points for a mahjong, a jokerless hand or a concealed hand), logs each hand, and the app keeps game-night winners and season standings. It also offers an optional official NMJL scoring mode where the host enters the value printed on their own card.

Who it’s for

People who host a weekly or occasional American mahjong night and want a season-long score, a simple RSVP link for players, and printable house-rule and score-sheet helpers.

Why it’s listed

It is a tool for running a home game, not a game or a venue. Its site explains the scoring model, the RSVP flow and its limits in plain terms.

Host-only app: only the host needs the app; other players are added by name, with free view-only codes if they want to follow along.
Scheduling: a no-account link for polling nights, and a standing-night RSVP link (“in, maybe, or can’t”).
Scoring: custom house rules or official NMJL mode; wall games (no winner) and late arrivals are supported; two tables at once are supported.
Free printables: a house-rules guide, a one-page score sheet (PDF) and an eight-page Game Night Host Kit, no email required.
Price: free to download; Premium is free for 14 days, then $2.99 a month or $23.99 a year.

Notes

Home games listing: a scoring and scheduling tool; games are still played with your own tiles, racks and card.
American mahjong only: it is built around four-player tables and, optionally, NMJL values.
NMJL: the site says it is not affiliated with the National Mah Jongg League and does not reproduce the card, its hand names or its values.
Points, not money: the site states that plenty of groups play for points only; the app keeps a running score and season title.
Subscription: the free tier’s limits were not reviewed; the site names the Premium trial and prices above.
Image: the site’s own og:image (social-card.png), 1200×630, saved as the-mahj-report.jpg.
Not affiliated with Mahjong Plaza. No app was downloaded and no account, form or contact was made.

FAQ

A: No. One person keeps score. Other players can be added by name without an account, and anyone who wants to follow along can use a free view-only code.

A: Yes, as a second mode. You enter the value printed on your own card for the winning hand and the app handles payments. It does not include the card itself.

A: The app is free to download. Premium is free for 14 days, then $2.99 a month or $23.99 a year.

Q: Is it affiliated with the NMJL?

Q: Are there free printables?
