What it is

Emperor of Mahjong® is a first-party G5 Entertainment solitaire / tile-matching product. You pair matching free tiles to clear layouts, collect resources, rebuild an Ancient Rome settlement (city-building framing), and use boosters such as Shuffle and Firecracker. It is not 4-player mahjong — not American Mah Jongg (NMJL card), not Japanese Riichi, not Chinese table play.

Who it’s for

People who want a casual matching-tile puzzle with story / map / settlement framing on phone, tablet, or PC (G5 Store / launcher, browser on g5.com, iOS, Android, Mac, Windows). Not players looking for a live 4-player table.

Why it’s listed

Plaza needs a clearly labeled first-party solitaire / tile-matching side-game slot that is not already on disk (not Microsoft, MobilityWare, EnsenaSoft / Mahjong Deluxe, TrySolitaire, GamoVation / Mahjong Club, Zygomatic, City Tours, Treasure Quest, Arkadium / Mahjong Dimensions, G5 / Mahjong Journey, or G5 / Pyramid of Mahjong).

  • Product hub (https://www.g5.com/games/jewels-of-mahjong-match-tiles-to-restore-the-city) loaded on 2026-09-14 under Emperor of Mahjong®: Connect pair matching puzzle. Copy: “unique and epic combination of city building and tile pairing”; “complete free mahjong levels by matching pairs of identical tiles”; power-ups named Shuffle (gets you out of a difficult situation) and Firecracker (blows up multiple pairs of tiles); Ancient Rome / prefect / Cassius story framing; hub bullets include thousands of immersive levels, boosters, offline play, and rebuild / unlock buildings. Platforms listed there: iOS, Mac, Android / Kindle Fire / G5 Android, Windows 10+. Hub “How to play” frames pair-clearing: remove pairs of free tiles (ones not blocked by other tiles) with identical pictures until the board is cleared.
  • G5 mahjong catalog (https://www.g5.com/games/mahjong): lists Emperor of Mahjong®: Connect pair matching puzzle among G5’s mahjong solitaire titles (alongside Mahjong Journey, Sheriff of Mahjong, Pyramid of Mahjong, and Mary’s Mahjong). Catalog “What is the objective of mahjong?” section frames mahjong solitaire: clear the board by matching pairs of identical free tiles (not blocked left or right).
  • First-party Help Center article (https://support.g5.com/hc/en-us/articles/360010890680-Emperor-of-Mahjong), updated July 17, 2026: FAQ covers Coins / Talismans, Rubies, Energy vs Power, in-game rules pointer (tutorial / inventory tips), Friends / Wish List, and Windows close behavior. Framing is a single-player puzzle / city-build adventure around pair-clearing levels, not a 4-player hand.
  • Google Play listing (developer G5 Entertainment AB (Publ); package com.g5e.jewelsofmahjong.android): store title Emperor of Mahjong Tile Match; Contains ads; In-app purchases; Play copy calls it mahjong solitaire / pair matching / tile-matching with city-building; offline play; short blurb “Match mahjong tiles & build a Roman town in this matching puzzle game!”; Updated on Aug 20, 2026. Developer address on that listing: Nybrogatan 6, 114 34 Stockholm, Sweden.
  • Apple App Store listing (seller G5 Entertainment AB; app id 1487938828; store title Emperor of Mahjong: Tile Match): subtitle “City Building Matching Puzzle”; category Puzzle (also Board); Free · In-App Purchases; age 4+. Notes

  • Solitaire / tile-matching only. Do not list this as real 4-player mahjong (American, Riichi, or Chinese). First-party hub, mahjong catalog, and Play copy call it mahjong solitaire / pair-matching: match free tiles and clear layouts (with optional city-building progression around those puzzles).
  • Hub, mahjong catalog, Help Center FAQ, Play listing, App Store listing, Mac App Store listing, and corporate About loaded on 2026-09-14. Play printed Updated on Aug 20, 2026; Help Center printed Updated July 17, 2026; App Store / Mac version history showed v1.76.7600 dated Aug 21, 2026 on that check.
  • Free-to-play on the hub and stores checked. Play lists ads and in-app purchases; App Store lists Free with In-App Purchases and optional crystal / deal SKUs. Do not invent one single price those pages do not agree on.
  • Distinct from Microsoft Mahjong, MobilityWare Mahjong, Mahjong Deluxe / EnsenaSoft, TrySolitaire, Mahjong Club / GamoVation, Zygomatic’s mahjong.com, Mahjong City Tours, Mahjong Treasure Quest, Mahjong Dimensions / Arkadium, Mahjong Journey / G5, and Pyramid of Mahjong / G5 (all already listed). Also distinct from other G5 mahjong titles (Sheriff of Mahjong, Mary’s Mahjong) if those are listed later. Hub URL still uses the older “jewels-of-mahjong” path slug; store titles use Emperor of Mahjong.
  • Not affiliated with Mahjong Plaza.

FAQ

Q: Can I play 4-player mahjong here (American, Riichi, or Chinese)?
A: No. G5’s product hub and mahjong catalog frame Emperor of Mahjong as mahjong solitaire / pair matching: clear layouts by pairing identical free tiles (with story and settlement rebuilding around those puzzles). That is not a 4-player table.

Q: Where do I actually play?
A: The official hub is g5.com/games/jewels-of-mahjong-match-tiles-to-restore-the-city. Google Play and the App Store host Emperor of Mahjong Tile Match; Mac App Store hosts Emperor of Mahjong: Tile Fun; G5 also lists Windows / Mac / browser / Android play through g5.com and the G5 Store. There is no live 4-player server on those pages.

Q: Is it free?
A: The G5 hub presents free-to-play distribution (optional in-app items). Google Play lists ads and in-app purchases. The App Store lists Free with In-App Purchases and optional crystal / deal SKUs (long description and IAP list: $0.99 through $49.99 among other SKUs). Check the store or hub you use; those pages do not print one single paid price on the check date.
