What it is

Classical Mahjong is a first-party teaching practice on classicalmahjong.com: private and online lessons covering setup, tiles/suits, scoring, and winning-hand strategy for traditional Chinese-style Mahjong, plus corporate team-building sessions. It is a teacher site — not an equipment shop and not a public drop-in JCC open-play calendar as the primary identity.

Who it’s for

Learners who want citeable private or online instruction in classical / Chinese-style Mahjong from a named teacher with structured lesson themes, rather than schools already on disk (School of American Mah Jongg, Order of the Tile, Tom Sloper, Atlanta Mentors, Mahj Life, Mahjong with Kim, The Mahj Playbook, etc.).

Why it’s listed

Plaza needs an unused first-party teacher / course page with loadable lesson themes and an active 2026 site identity.

• Homepage (https://classicalmahjong.com/) returned 200 on 2026-09-24. Headline framing: “Learn With An Expert Teacher In Private And Online Lessons.” Lesson themes named on-page: How To Set-Up (history, culture, correct play, scoring); Tiles And Suits (bamboo, characters, circles, seasons, dragons, flowers); Winning Mahjong Hands (strategy and special limit hands). Nav lists Online Lessons, Private Lessons, Corporate Events, and FAQ’s. Footer: © 2026 classicalmahjong. WhatsApp enquiry widget: “Hi! You’ve got through to Nick at Classical Mahjong…”
• About page (https://classicalmahjong.com/about/) returned 200. Teacher copy: learned classical Mahjong over 30 years ago in Edinburgh, Scotland; played many years in Asia; “relocated to the south of Europe” where he teaches and plays. Value props printed: professional teaching approach; step-by-step learning from fundamentals to strategy; sociable group/private sessions tailored to friends and family.
• Testimonials on the homepage cite online classes (London), private villa teaching (Marbella), beginner-to-school progression (New York), and HR corporate team-building (Gibraltar).

Nav destinations labeled Online Lessons / Private Lessons / FAQ’s returned soft 404 shells on the check date; cite the live home and About pages (both 200) for booking facts, and confirm rates directly with Nick before paying — the pages checked did not print a public USD price list.

Notes

• Learning / teacher (private, online, and corporate lessons). Primary identity is classical / Chinese-style Mahjong — do not invent NMJL American-card affiliation.
• First-party classicalmahjong.com teacher site. Not Amazon and not a MahjongFinder scrape.
• Not affiliated with Mahjong Plaza.

FAQ

Q: Does Classical Mahjong offer online lessons?
A: Yes. On 2026-09-24 the homepage headline advertised private and online lessons, and a London testimonial described learning via online classes.

Q: Who teaches?
A: The About page and WhatsApp widget identify Nick as the Classical Mahjong teacher, with 30+ years of classical Mahjong experience starting in Edinburgh.

Q: Is this American NMJL Mah Jongg?
A: The site frames classical / traditional Chinese Mahjong (tiles, suits, limit hands, scoring). Do not treat it as an NMJL-card American school without separate confirmation.
