What it is

Custom Mahjong Co. is an online shop that sells hand-carved acrylic American mahjong tile sets, made to order. Its home page says every set is “cut, engraved, and inspected after you place your order,” and that sets are “Made in China, delivered in about 3-5 weeks, duties included.” Each design is a fixed look (face artwork, tile backs and edge color). It is an equipment shop, not a club or a class.

Who it’s for

American mahjong players and gift buyers who want a colored acrylic 166-tile set in a choice of tile sizes and can wait several weeks for it.

Why it’s listed

The shop has first-party product pages with a price range, size options and an order button, plus its own specifications. No plaza listing covers a made-to-order acrylic set maker with selectable tile sizes.

• Ice Blue Acrylic American Mahjong Set — $249.00 to $289.00 (product page returned 200 on 2026-10-13): cast acrylic with ice-blue gradient sides and hand-carved face artwork. Sizes: Compact (1.2”), Mid (1.3”) and Full-size (1.4”).
• Tile count: 166 tiles, which the page describes as 152 in play (144 standard + 8 jokers) plus 14 spares. It says the set is compatible with NMJL rules and standard 18-inch racks.
• Specs (Compact size): 30 × 23 × 13 mm per tile, 10–11 g per tile, about 1.75 kg for the tiles alone. Only tiles are included.
• Timing: production usually takes 10–18 business days, then about 10–14 days in transit.
• What “custom” means: the page says customization is choosing the finished design and size. It does not include uploaded artwork, text engraving, monograms or a proof step.
• Other designs on the home page: Tangerine Aviary, Matcha Garden Green, Red Star Social, Lavender Bloom, Midnight Noir Black and Nautical Ocean (Tangerine Aviary shows $249–$289).

Notes

• Equipment listing for made-to-order acrylic tile sets.
• Tile count differs from many shops: 166 tiles (with 14 spares) and 8 jokers counted in play, per the product page. Many US sets ship 160 tiles with 10 jokers; check that the set suits your group’s card.
• No racks, bag or case are listed in the Ice Blue “Includes” line.
• New store: the product page showed “There are no reviews yet.” The site copy is heavily marketing-styled and includes an “AI citation notes” section; this card uses only the factual spec lines.
• Prices are what the official page showed on the check date. They change.
• Image: the shop’s own Ice Blue product photo (the product page’s og:image), 1024×1024, saved as custom-mahjong-co.jpg.
• Not affiliated with Mahjong Plaza. No purchase, contact or form submission was made.
